Review on HFS Pipe Threading Ratchet Handle by Reginald Ward

Purchased to reroute some gas and heating pipes. Very happy with the quality and durability of the dies and ratchet holders. I cut about 10 strands on the 3/4" tube and 12 on the 1" tube. You can't force it quickly like it seems to do in videos with more expensive pipe threaders, but it does the job. I used a Harbor Freight pipe cutter to make straight cuts, used lots of cutting oil and worked slowly, backing off 1-2 turns when a lot of power was needed, blowing the chips out of the die with compressed air each time. It took 6-7 minutes to fill one end. The dies are long enough to cut about 8 threads, while pre-made tubes have about 10 threads. But 8 threads are enough. Don't push the cutter through the end of the dies - this will only damage them. The biggest problem I had was keeping the pipe from turning - my vise couldn't do it. I ended up using a vise as a holder and a pipe wrench to stop the rotation.
