But works. for hand tools

So this thing works about as you would expect for $30. I used it to cut 1" black pipe. Be sure to watch the video on using this threader and back up every 2-4 turns to cut chips Pros: WorksCheap Cons: It was very tedious cutting the threads. I'm 6ft 200lbs and I spend a lot of time in the gym and it took about 30 minutes to cut a tube with a few rests. Maybe it would be easier if I used a vise or smaller tube. Good for a bit of work but I would literally die if I had to do more than 5 threads…

  • Good product for the price

Saved me a lot of money

I used these when I was an HVAC contractor so I had a good idea of how it works. This saved me a lot of money when I needed to run a gas line for my Procom heater. Hardware stores will pay you to death for ready-made pipes of various lengths. So if you buy them 10 feet long and cut and thread them yourself you will save a lot of money. Just be patient while screwing on the pipes. Do not rush or use force. Make sure you use cane oil and this tool, like many others, will last you for many years…

Works great for wrench

Purchased to reroute some gas and heating pipes. Very happy with the quality and durability of the dies and ratchet holders. I cut about 10 strands on the 3/4" tube and 12 on the 1" tube. You can't force it quickly like it seems to do in videos with more expensive pipe threaders, but it does the job. I used a Harbor Freight pipe cutter to make straight cuts, used lots of cutting oil and worked slowly, backing off 1-2 turns when a lot of power was needed, blowing the chips out of the die with…

This threading machine works great if you use it properly.

I don't want to embarrass those of you who give this tool negative reviews, but to me it's obvious that you're misusing it. It only took me about two minutes to figure out how it works and then thread a good, clean, usable thread onto the end of the 80 gauge PVC pipe. No pressure, no swearing, no sweat. I didn't even have to use lube. They're all trying to put a matrix on the end of a pipe and you've got it upside down. What you have to do is thread the end of the tube through the hole on the…

This is a good product

Buy well or buy twice. Unless you need a tool to complete a project, it's not worth spending $200 on a tool to make 5 or 6 threaded ends. So here we are. I was skeptical after reading all the negative reviews and as so often this is user error and not a product. I'll give a better review once I've used more, but here's my method for a 1/2 inch black iron pipe and this tool worked flawlessly and didn't damage the tool or perfectly cut cutter teeth like you get when that Tube is prethreaded .ok…

  • Small parts

Worth the $32 I paid for it, great for small crafts.

I just used a die and pipe wrench to screw in some 2" plugs and it worked fine. grooves) with saws so that it works with short plugs; You need a full 3" tube to use the die like this, which is overkill for a 1/2" die (most tube threaders require at least 3" or more, this is not uncommon). I used coconut oil as a lube and it got the job done with no damage to the teeth. The resulting thread is fine and does not leak. In case anyone else tries to thread the short plugs: I originally intended to…

Pros
  • Ratchet head for easy threading
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
