I have a radar detector hardwired to my truck and needed something to identify a positive source. That's exactly what I need. I didn't have to pay a lot of money for some kind of voltmeter. I can use this a few times but for the purpose I would use it is more than enough. Pretty simple, connect to a ground source and then touch the probe with the connector end of the cable. If the light on the handle comes on, it's a positive source if it doesn't go to the nearest wire. Quite easy. I didn't like the durability as I only used it once. I don't know how long that will take.
