Review on πŸ’ͺ XXGO 6 Pcs Carbide Oscillating Tool Blades Kit: Perfect for Tile Grout Removal (Model: XG8510) by Alex May

Not all solutions are easily accessible.

According to Smith House, they don't allow for deep cuts, making it even more difficult to get into those hard-to-reach places. I have a long line of grout in my kitchen that runs under the top of the cabinet. None of these would have worked for me because I had to use the tool on its side so the blades barely protrude past the tool and do virtually nothing to remove the grout. If you can point the tool's nose exactly at what you're working on, that's effective, and making it a bit bigger would help. The semi-circle is 2-1/2" wide at its widest point, so no matter what angle you tilt it, nothing goes beyond the width of the tool... My semi-circular wood cutting blades are 3-3/8" in Diameter. The size is correct in the ad, I just didn't see it when I bought it. The HEMUNC 6PCS Diamond Carbide Multi-Tool Saw Set is the one I had to go with or similar because it has blades that allow you to use the tool from the side. When I started on the rest of the floor the sanded grout ate them up pretty quickly so maybe they are best for unpolished or epoxy grout I'd say it's probably $20 not well spent cuz I'm using one Diamond blade finished in a small tile saw, and it quickly ripped out the joints, but it was like working in a desert sandstorm, even with a vacuum next to the blade. There are a lot of good reviews here so it would seem like they would work for someone but I wouldn't/could not use them effectively for grouting floors. Also, when using them on floor joints they don't give you much flexibility if you're using the tool at an angle and it's quite difficult to get your nose on the floor.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
