I bought this as part of a kit for a 12 year old for Christmas. With the help of adults it was a lot of fun and involved the whole family in a little experiment. The strips can be cut into chunks, leaving more material than you'll ever use unless you're running a lab of 300 students. I also bought a bag of Gymnema silvestre tea leaves, which temporarily block the "sweet" taste buds in the mouth. After everyone tried the test strips, we blocked our sweet receptors and tried different foods. (By the way, M&Ms are very gross unless you have a sweet tooth.) It was a fun family activity for a couple of hours.
