Review on BFGoodrich g-Force Winter 2 235/45 R18 98V Winter by Stanislaw Grzechnik ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, I liked the product, I bought it for a reason.

I bought it for the Opel Corsa consciously according to the conditions: inexpensive, individual operation, no spikes. Initially, I wanted to buy the Nokian Nordman RS2 again, for the third time, but suddenly they went up in price and suddenly got bored) Yes, these are excellent tires for central 2022 (Hong Kong), but these are very winter tires, which is not always a plus for purely urban use, but I decided to just diversify the choice. BFGoodrich wanted for a long time, and Michelin in the form of the main brand and a relative novelty + bought before the winter of 2022-2022 for 2800 / piece. Who cares, this is not a purely "Scandinavian" type of tire, but not a "European" one either, something, respectively, 60/40, probably . I understood that, unlike the RS2, they would be weak on ice, but they would win on the pavement, which, let's be realistic, in the city dominates 95% of the season. And so it happened. The advantages described above are quite accurate, there is nothing to add, good tires. It's no secret that in the European part of 2022, cities are covered with snow a couple of times during the winter, and the rest of the time we drive on clean and simply cold asphalt. And they cope with this perfectly, just as they perfectly know how to leave the snow-covered yards in which I live. In the minuses, there is a nuance - it is on icy asphalt or on ice, but lightly sprinkled with snow, that is, when the tread does not work, but the composition of the rubber and the sipes directly, the tire loses its strong position and becomes an average winter tire. But in all other respects, she is very good. From handling, there is also a feature, on a very slippery surface, its transverse coupling properties are slightly higher than the longitudinal ones. It turns out in practice that on ice it slows down with a medium rush of ABS, but to turn it off and safely return to its lane - that's welcome! Sensitive to pressure, 0.5 atm lower and immediately the car pulls strongly to the side. This is not a minus and not a plus, a feature. In general, I definitely recommend it, if the conditions are right. The further west across the country, the better, the further east, the weaker they will be.

Pros
  • High stability when driving on deep snow slush. Very good hydroplaning resistance. The track is felt weakly. Good grip on wet pavement. Handling seemed neutral, the skid rides neatly with 4 wheels, controlled by both the steering wheel and the gas. Clear and reliable handling on winter frozen asphalt. In deep snow rowing normally and forward and backward. Quiet, no tread noise. The smoothness of the ride simply does not attract attention, joints and cracks are driven a little better than expected. And finally - a beautiful tread pattern.
Cons
  • There is a fine line when driving on an icy road that is lightly covered in snow. Weak under these conditions. Expectedly rather weak on rolled smooth ice and snow.
