Review on Wireless Audio Transmitter for Smart TVs - WiSA SoundSend | 8 Channels Uncompressed 24-bit 48/96 kHz Sound | Auto-connects to WiSA-Certified Speakers (Sold Separately) by Matthew Fleming

No compromise design choices

Bought to replace the Klipsch RP-Hub1 like many others. Also, like many others, I didn't notice the DTS exception. Luckily I can decode the audio elsewhere and stream this uncompressed PCM, but that's not the ideal solution for me. Atmos is good but seems a bit forward looking at the moment. (As far as I know, there are no wisa-capable height speakers). Also, it takes between 500ms and 1 second for the device to start playing audio after receiving a signal. I haven't experienced the "random" signal drops mentioned by others, but if the source has no sound for a moment, the sound will mute and take another 500ms to pick up again. This is more of an issue with some talking head-style content on YouTube than with movies or TV, but it's certainly annoying. I'm not sure if this is some kind of power saving feature or just a design flaw. Overall this is a fairly affordable Wisa transmitter, despite its flaws, for my needs it's still better and a lot more affordable than the old Klipsch hub, but it looks like it's just a few firmware upgrades to something to become what I like to own.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some bugs
