Review on πŸ”Œ Effortless Vehicle Wiring with Hopkins 42475 Plug-In Simple Kit by Polo Acri

Works great and easy to install for most people.

Very easy to install. Installed it on our 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport a few minutes ago. The recall clutch is of course not wired. Sigh. I have to say the hardest part was tearing off the inner side panels and fitting them properly. The connector was the same as described behind the panel. I turned it off after realizing I had to slide over the red locking mechanism and then squeeze the gray handle to turn it off. Then I plugged in the plug of the electrical kit and blocked it again. If you lift the carpet a little where you removed the paneling, you'll find a red thing that looks like a gas cap. Under the car, pinch the red tabs, and then you can insert the cap into the car. Cut the wire in the black rubber and thread in the connector of the cable set. Using a screwdriver, I was able to poke a hole in the metal to attach a ground screw (remember, you can't do without it!). Make sure to drill the screw in the inner metal wall, not the outer one, otherwise you will make a hole in the car! Now you are basically done. Find a good way to route the wire without getting too close to the exhaust pipe, which gets very hot. I ran it over the exhaust and over the new hitch. I used long plastic ties from Harbor Freight to secure the cable securely and tightly over the hitch beam. That's all. Since I don't have a trailer (I'm planning on renting one from U-Haul) I checked the contacts with a multimeter and found that every time the headlights came on, the turn signals worked, or the brake was applied, I got 12 volts lights worked. U-shaped trailer now multiple times for multiple 8 hour trips. The plug works great and has lasted for several months now. However, highly recommended.
