The left turn signal does not work. Can't find the problem.

Well the installation was easy. However, the left turn signal does not work on any of my trailers. I think it's a bad contact in that harness as another reviewer mentioned, but I push the two connectors all the way in and let the red latch fall. I'm still working on it, but so far this product isn't working for me.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • No instructions

Don't buy this on a 2003 Liberty! After trying two of these, I learned the hard way. They will not fit 2003 Jeep Liberty! Buy Curt 55382 for the first time. I called Hopkins twice, they say it works but it doesn't! Buy Curt 55382 better assembled and working! Revain needs to update its product compliance information.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Some problems

As stated in the title, this kit plugs into the main wiring harness and does not require the removal of two brake lights for installation. Simply remove the top and bottom edges of the tailgate/trunk, then pull the passenger side interior trim away from the side panel and you will find the main wiring harness. The Hopkins kit only connects to the main wiring harness one way, so you can't go wrong. Easy installation.

Easy install to save money

Installed this wiring harness on a 2004 Jeep Liberty. The installation instructions were clear and precise. I removed the right rear panel from the body, there is a connector. I was able to install the wiring harness in minutes. Didn't have to be cut, just glued. Attaching the trailer plug end took a little longer as the rear bumper is held in place with thin vinyl clips. I drilled and cut two holes in the hitch to attach the plug holder. The whole process took about an hour. The dealer…

Best Aftermarket Trailer Wiring Option For Jeep Liberty KJ

This wiring harness seems to be a lot better than the regular type that plugs into the tail light connectors. It takes a bit of fiddling to remove the inner body panel far enough to access the factory connector, but the end result is worth it. The two internal connectors that connect this harness to the factory wiring appear solid and of good quality. The wires going to the 4-blade connector are wrapped in high-quality electrical tape, and the 4-blade connector itself feels thicker than most…

A few installation tips

This product was installed on a 2004 Jeep Liberty and routes the electrical connector into the correct location on the hitch. The job took just over an hour, but I made a few mistakes along the way. I couldn't immediately find connections behind the right panel and started making connections in the left panel, only to later figure out where to make the connection in the right panel. My recommendation is to first look under the jeep above the exhaust pipe and find a hole to run the cable…

Just plug and play

Installed on a 2007 Jeep Liberty. This worked as expected. The 2007 Jeep Liberty wiring harness to which it must be connected is located in the rear of the passenger side cargo area under the plastic quarter panel. You had to remove the tailgate floor plastic trim and then just remove the side plastic trim (you simply pull on the trim starting from where you remove the tailgate floor plastic strip). It will be a bit difficult without removing the entire panel, but it can be done. The factory…

Works great and easy to install for most people.

Very easy to install. Installed it on our 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport a few minutes ago. The recall clutch is of course not wired. Sigh. I have to say the hardest part was tearing off the inner side panels and fitting them properly. The connector was the same as described behind the panel. I turned it off after realizing I had to slide over the red locking mechanism and then squeeze the gray handle to turn it off. Then I plugged in the plug of the electrical kit and blocked it again. If you lift…

My positive experience

2006 Liberty Limited: As the OEM hook did not come with a wiring harness I installed it and it worked very well. You will need some long zip ties as these were not supplied with this harness. It was a relatively easy setup. The only step that doesn't follow the instructions, and I haven't seen any other mention, is that my car doesn't have any screws or cargo ties that can be removed near the 12vdc socket to mount the side panel. After removing the sill, the side panel detached with a similar…
