Review on Dutton Lainson Company Goldenrod Pistol Oiler by Jesse Runninger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well-made all-metal lubricator with excellent oil control

For as long as I can remember, my father has owned one of these. I don't know if it's the same company name, but the design and features are identical. Along with an all-metal construction. USA all-metal construction with good oil separation. Features a check valve on the bottom of the intake so once you start supplying oil you don't need two or three pumps to collect the oil unlike some other smaller oil pumps. This allows you to modulate the output at the tip into very small drops with a small trigger pull if you wish. The slightest pull of the trigger will immediately begin to force out the oil. Very pretty. Fairly simple device for fairly frequent use. However, the basic good design and materials make it a little better than other mostly crappy oilers on the market. If you have a need, get it and you won't regret one bit. A NOTICE. You will receive a 606 oiler with a flexible metal spout. That's what I wanted. The product shown shows a rigid spout. This is the only difference.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
