First off I can see people are confused reading this but if you do a google search or watch a youtube video you should be fine. Don't be discouraged if you need to research this, I work in tech and I meet people who forget how to read them after not using them for a while. was a decent price and requires no batteries. When I was an auto technician a few years ago, I had a Matco digital caliper that stopped working. Since the repair will cost around $40-$50, I looked for something else and it was reasonably priced. I will say that it feels pretty light in your hand and you might be a bit skeptical when you first take it out of the box, but after trying it it worked pretty well. For something I'll only use occasionally on my machine, I'm satisfied. Maybe I'd keep it ok for more frequent use, but you have to remember not to drop it and be rough with it.
