I was glad to get this based on the reviews. He came and I read all the instructions. Well, it made square edges into sharp blunt edges and made sharp edges blunt. The straps fried in about 10 minutes while I did the blunt edges. This works for mild steel knives. This does not apply to knives made of tool steel. If you're into knife making, skip this and get a wet grinding wheel like the Wen 10" wet grinding machine with Tormex blade attachments. I like the wet stone grinder and sharpening knives much better, which I made with a hair razor blade.
