I have a fairly deep sandy bottom in my 90 gallon reef tank. He has always suffered from algae growing under the sand where the light falls on him, making the aquarium look a bit dirty. Since the tank is built in, it is very difficult to clean it from the back. However, this did a great job. It's strong enough to push sand through to clean glass and the design prevents sand from getting stuck where it could scratch the glass. He also quickly got a grip on coral algae that had accumulated in the rear part of the aquarium. It took about 5 minutes to clean the rest of the back cover which I spent hours cleaning on another occasion. This makes washing glasses really fun. This works way better than any hand scraper I've ever owned. I have no problem scratching the glass. I checked that the blade has no sharp edges or burrs before using it according to the instructions. Very happy with the purchase.
