Review on Voilamart Auto Heavy Duty Jumper Cables 2 Gauge 20Ft 1200AMP With Carry Bag Long Automotive Battery Jumper Cable Commercial Grade Booster Cables For Cars Battery Jump Start Cables For Trucks by Matthew Sutton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

UNDER 19 feet USABLE length -battery to battery. In this case less is NOT better

The wire gauge is decent, however, these CABLES are not 20 feet long-even when fully stretched out with no slack and imeasuring tip to tip of the clamps they still come up short.Measured that way one is 19'6" the other was 19'9". Obviously you can't use only one jumper cable for their intended use, so the shorter length (19'6" ) is the length that matters.Starting with that figure:Losing even 6" at each end for connecting the clamps he USABLE length of the cable set is then a max of around 18' 6".18'6" may seem plenty long for a set of cables, but lets look at that a little more closely.Side by side or nose to nose-no problem.BUT front to back though having only 18'6" gets dicey-for some vehicles it will be plenty, with others jump starting has no chance front to back.(For safety sake a minimum a foot or so should be between the vehicles when jump starting-more is better.)The most sold CARS in USA (2017) are the Toyota Camry and Corolla at 15.9' and 15.25' respectively, ADD A FOOT, STILL OK.BUTThe most sold VEHICLES in the USA (in 2017 and for many previous years ) are 3 pickups, are represented by the the Ford F150 (short bed) at 19.3" to 20.3' (longbed or crewcab) Chevvy and ram figures are similar. Pickups are arguably more likely to be involved in a jump start situation than most other vehicles. With the pickups, even a set of TRUE 20' cables CANNOT REACH FRONT TO BACK FOR A JUMP START.If you have such a vehicle a better bet is to move up to 25' cables.
