Can't beat the price and it works great as long as you know how to cook rice. I've had one before and never had a problem with it. I had to get rid of my old one in the army to lose weight to carry my belongings. When I bought a new one, many people said it burned their rice. I used it to make 3 servings of perfect rice. My brother, who has lived in Thailand for 20 years, taught me never to follow package directions when cooking rice. Simply rinse the rice and fill it with water a finger above the rice level and it comes out perfect every time! He's right! Just remember that people have different fingertip sizes. I'm a tall guy at 6ft 5in and I only pour water just over my fingernail, but a Thai's fingertip will probably match my fingernail. Stick to this and you'll have great rice and stop reading directions on packages that don't. I also always unplug when it's done, maybe the keep warm function is what burns other people's rice, but I'll never know because I try to conserve energy when there's no reason to waste it . Try to keep life simple. !
