Review on ๐Ÿ” Thames Kosmos Multiplayer Mystery Exit by Shaylon Bateson

Challenge and sense of humor

EXIT offers themed quests in small boxes at reasonable prices. Missions such as exploring a museum, searching for treasure, or repairing a damaged plane provide the plot - the need to escape provides the pace and motivation to progress through the game. EXIT games come with instructions, an illustrated booklet, decks of puzzle, answer and help cards, strange objects and a colorful decoder disc to guide you through the game. Games are designed to be played only once. There is no board, no timer - all players work together to solve puzzles built into the story. Games are made in 4 difficulty levels - this one was for beginners. While an online manual is available, the games themselves are self-sufficient - all you need is a pen, paper, and scissors. We had fun playing the Mystery Museum game in 3 leisurely sessions, traveling through the museum and going back in time to meet the great ghosts of the past. To open doors and solve problems, we searched for clues, solved word puzzles, cut and rearranged puzzle pieces, drew mazes and cracked codes. We had to discuss, brainstorm, and work together to solve each puzzle. There was no killing, shooting, inequality, malevolence, animal cruelty, or sexuality in the game. Children and adults with mild disabilities will struggle, and experienced players will have an advantage. We got stuck on two clues, but help cards saved us. Note that this doesn't look like a typical board game like Monopoly - there's little luck involved, cooperation is rewarded, and points are optional. It was a fun game and had more of a sense of humor than Stormy Flight and Sunken Treasure EXIT. We agreed that we want to play more of these games. If you enjoy it and the price tag is justified for a one-off game, you'll love The Mystery Museum. I hope this review was helpful. Enjoy your time at home!
