Review on πŸͺš Enhance Your Woodworking Projects with the PORTER-CABLE Dovetail Jig: Mini Template Kit Included by Kadarius Gentry

Works fine for me so far.

Disclaimer: So far I've only used this jig on through dovetails. I haven't had an opportunity to make other types supported by this jig. The first few times I used this jig I blindly followed the instructions and found it easy enough to create tight fitting dovetails. Without much fiddling, I had splices that matched with smooth edges, and I was able to adjust how tight the splice was when I started trimming the pins (tails come first in the instructions, whichever opinion you prefer). I think the reason the pins come second is that you have a good opportunity to customize the fit to your liking. You can adjust both the length of the pins and the tight fit for this second surgery. The use of this device requires sufficient attention to the operating instructions. If you don't mark your parts and verify that you've attached the control side to the specified stops, you'll have a hard time making connections that fit together properly. Others say this device is too "inconvenient". for customization and I didn't really find that it was. If you need to make 10 boxes of the same size, you need to install the jig once for the shafts and then again for the pins. Cut off all the tails, then cut off all the pins, then assemble all the drawers in that order. If you set it up for each joint you might lose some time, but I don't think it should be done that way. If I discover a problem in the future I will update this review.
