Hello, we need a pair of pliers with a fairly wide flat surface to do the housework. We tried all types of pliers and none of them worked properly. But after using these durable pliers it was excellent. Of course, the flexible rubber coverings of the wide grip area of the blade were damaged immediately. Several cracks opened up after using pliers. We can still use scabbards on the tips of the blades, but they'll wear out very soon. Replacement tip sleeves weren't mentioned so Amazon search had another company offering a different set of flexible tip sleeves for wide pliers. This should have been part of the original order or at least on the same page as the accessories. the tongs themselves are almost bulletproof, but if you wash them, they dry out completely or rust spots appear in a flash.
