Review on LG 43UN700-B: 4K Display with Type C Inputs, Tilt Adjustment, HDR, Built-In Speakers by Rohit Lahiri

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Luckily, the LG Nob dongle is removable.

My point is that thankfully LG's ugly pad/button under the bezel is removable and you get a clean, perfect monitor bezel (see photos). However, you can't turn it off completely because that's how the remote connects to the monitor. This allows you to attach the removed key behind the monitor to keep the monitor frame looking clean. The monitor size of 43 inches is ideal. It's not too big and you'll get used to the size within a few days. The issue everyone is talking about, with a slight shadow to the side of the frame, isn't noticeable unless you're looking exactly 12-15 inches from the monitor and tilting your head at a certain angle to see it. Disadvantages: no color temperature setting. It has a separate color slider for Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. It's not really a downside, but 4k definitely improves on poor image and video quality. HDR10 is strikingly colorful on this monitor. However, Windows 10HDR does not reproduce colors very well in values. Not really the monitor's fault. I haven't tried HDR gaming yet. Color accuracy is good. I've jumped from a DELL UltraSharp monitor with higher color accuracy and as far as I can tell the difference is very small. Sharpness is the same or slightly better than my DELL UltraSharp monitor. The refresh rate and response time are not bad for gaming. Unless you've been playing that super fast FPS game where you swing your mouse around insanely to aim, it doesn't affect the game much.

Pros
  • tilt adjustment
Cons
  • Neutral
