First of all, it's BIG. They are also quite thick as well as quite rough. All these properties make them ideal for demanding cleaning jobs. I bought them specifically to clean bird baths that had algae on the bottom. Usually after a minute of cleaning one of these pads, my bird baths look brand new. They also won't damage soft ceramic, porcelain, concrete or stone surfaces. This 5 pack will likely last for years. I cut them in half so instead of five 10" x 4.5" pads I had ten 5" x 4.5" pads. At the time of writing, that's roughly $1.40 for half a block. That's not bad considering a pad will last at least a few years, if not more, if used every two weeks in spring, summer, fall, and even winter. In the meantime I have nine more to take on other difficult cleaning tasks that may arise. All in all, not a bad deal and a definite time saver for keeping our bird friends' spa in tip-top shape. Highly recommended.
