Great wrench when you need extra torque to remove the water filter. Use this in place of the weak black plastic SW-2 filter wrench that came with the filter as the plastic will bend when 'extra' torque is applied. If the filter housing has been overtightened, additional torque will be required. The SW-2 plastic wrench weighs just over 3 ounces, while the SPBW-1 heavy-duty steel wrench (USA-1 stamped) weighs five times that at just under 1 pound. The SPBW-1 (US-1) is also much longer, which greatly increases mechanical power. Is that an exaggeration? Yes. Is that steel wrench cheaper than calling a plumber? Also yes. Will you be careful not to over-tighten the filter next time? I definitely will be. Do not use this tool to tighten the file or it will overtighten - only use for removal. TIGHTEN THE FILTER CAREFULLY BY HAND WITHOUT TOOLS. Also, don't forget to order silicone O-ring grease and then clean the threads of the filter housing thoroughly.
