I received my adapter today. I downloaded the drivers from their website. I have disabled my laptop's existing internal Wi-Fi card so Wi-Fi is not available. Then I unpacked and installed the driver, restarted the computer and connected the adapter to the USB port. The computer found a new device and I was able to log into my home network using that adapter. The problem is that this adapter severely slowed down the upload and download speeds compared to my old laptop's built-in Wi-Fi. Accelerate up and down before doing anything with the laptop. Previous version: 42.2 down, 13.9 up. Existing WiFi disabled. Installed AC600 Wireless USB Adapter. new AC600 USB device. Enabled existing WiFi adapters on my laptop, restarted. Retested speed test with my laptop's original adapter: 47.8 down, 20.1 up, but that's definitely a big step backwards from the technology used in my old laptop and I won't be using this device.
