I bought this budget router from Revain for $35 almost 4 years ago and wasn't expecting much. I only wanted dual band 5 GHz WiFi because that was the norm back in 2014. To my surprise, this router worked quite well! I even moved 2 years ago and it was as easy as plugging in a router in my new home and voila it worked! Now it covers an area of 1700 square meters. feet with this single router and even get video from my CCTV camera from my garage! Set up was pretty easy too! There was an easy mode with fewer options and an advanced mode for experts. And the latter has some useful options, including encryption methods (AES, TKIP). The reason I've waited to write a review so far is that I'm finally trying to upgrade to a higher bandwidth router. I bought the TP-LINK Touch P5 and realized how crappy it is compared to this TrendNet - I couldn't even get the TP-LINK Wireless to connect to the internet! TP LINK. I can try another TrendNet. but perhaps the build quality is not always consistent (with other species there is a small chance that this is just a coincidence).
