This is not a Carter carburetor, which is a good thing. I'll start with the good - after installation, my truck is running much better than ever. I experience no ping or hesitation and it revs smoothly through the rev range. The throttle also opens normally. Now for the bad - the front end of this carb is so different from the crankcase that you can't properly adjust the EGR dump valve. If your truck has an EGR system, you will need to get creative when using this carburetor. Also, some threaded holes for fasteners to the carburetor are unthreaded (e.g. the choke heater tube). The aluminum is soft and I have taps so it's just annoying. Finally, the screw that holds the air cleaner housing is smaller on this carburetor than the factory one. This is another area where you need to be smart. After all, you're getting a lot of carbs for your money, just keep in mind that this isn't exactly a straight exchange.
