Review on πŸ“Έ ION Film to SD Card Scanner, 35mm Slide and Negative Converter (5 Megapixel Image Sensor) by John Benjamin

Scanning our family history in today's world

I am very pleased with the Slide to Pic ion scanner that I purchased from Revain.com. Locally it was over $109.00. It was easy to figure out by looking at the quick start guide. My slides are in cubes and the Ion has a turret insert that makes it easy to place the sides into the turret and quickly scan all the slides (less than a minute each). It's pretty well thought out and effective. However, there are considerations. 1. An SD card (2GB) with scanner makes it easy to transfer photos to a computer, but why not connect the device to a computer instead of transferring them from the card. 2. The screen is small, so the quality of the scanned image cannot be judged before scanning. 3. The scanner does not have controls to lighten or darken the image before scanning. But a shared score is a good, easy, and inexpensive way to bring those slides into the 21st century. I made a good choice.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Good but not great
