Great product for storing your old slides and negatives

This product is quick to set up and I was able to start scanning in minutes. The quality of the scans is good considering I'm trying to salvage slides and negatives that are up to 50 years old. Make sure you clean the lens (which is a bit tricky) and the film regularly to avoid dust. Any images I want to print or repair can be created in Photoshop. It's a basic unit and there aren't any adjustments other than flipping or rotating the image, but it's fast. Scanning and saving takes seconds. I…

It works. Pretty good!

Using Ion Film 2 SD is not that difficult. The instructions are quite easy to follow and understand. Compared to my old film converter, it is much easier and faster to work with. Another benefit is saving the image to the SD card instead of connecting the converter to the camera. Just note that the max limit is 8GB, but since I rarely shoot movies, a 2GB SD card will do. The only thing I have to warn you about is not to touch the 35mm strips while you are digitizing the images as the digital…

Scanning slides to slides and negative scanner

I had to scan 1500 of my father's slides because they were starting to get moldy and it makes sense to store them digitally. It's a little tricky to figure out how to use this scanner, but once you've memorized all the symbols, things will go pretty quickly. My first ION stopped working so I sent it back and they sent me a refurbished one. Well, this one didn't work at all, so I sent it back as well. Eventually they sent me another one and it worked fine for a while. Before I finished this…

Scanning our family history in today's world

I am very pleased with the Slide to Pic ion scanner that I purchased from Revain.com. Locally it was over $109.00. It was easy to figure out by looking at the quick start guide. My slides are in cubes and the Ion has a turret insert that makes it easy to place the sides into the turret and quickly scan all the slides (less than a minute each). It's pretty well thought out and effective. However, there are considerations. 1. An SD card (2GB) with scanner makes it easy to transfer photos to a…

ION FILM 2 SD 35mm film and slide scanner

Before ordering this product I read product reviews online and thought that some users were disappointed. However, the price was so cheap (Revain deal: only $30) that I thought it might be worth a try. I bought a large SD card that costs almost the same as an ION FILM2SD scanner! When I received the ION FILM2SD 35mm film and slide scanner it took about 2 minutes to assemble and I was ready to go, but the exact method of scanning to an SD card and then plugging it into my iMac using a USB Cable…
