This kettle is beautiful. It's sleek, shiny, and has the right proportions. Works like a kettle. Unfortunately, over time, the rubber inserts that line the grip and lever lose their grip and begin to slip. I've had several accidents where the rubber band has almost completely detached from the lever, exposing my fingers to the hot metal. Also, after a while, the red coating will start to "roll" around the area that comes into contact with the cover. In general, it looks good, and if you rarely use it. But if you need a workhorse kettle (for everyday use) or are having trouble with the handle, I'd suggest paying extra attention to that.
