Review on 🪓 BeaverCraft Draw Knife DK1S-4,3" Straight Shave Knife with Leather Sheath - Wood Carving Tools for Woodworking Hand Tool by Denise Davis

Just received it yesterday and have only tested it on a softwood pallet and a few logs of firewood. He cut nicely into the pallet and easily removed the (thin) bark from the firewood. I don't yet know how long it will hold the blade or how well and easily it sharpens, but based on what others have written about BeaverCraft knives I'm not overly concerned. I will use it for debarking firs and ponderosa. and maybe I'll end up buying a bigger blade - I've never had a knife like this - but I think it will be good, at least for smaller diameter logs. With something like a 12 inch DBH tree, I'm not at all sure how well it will perform given the relatively small blade spacing between handles. By the way, the handles themselves are not very big; I expected them to be bigger. So, without having used it seriously yet, I can at least say that the blade arrived very sharp, cuts well and the knife overall seems to be well made (although the handles are small). 4 stars instead of 5 because despite advertised dimensions it is smaller to use with logs of any actual size.
