Review on Woodronic Wooden Backgammon Set: Classic Folding Board Game With Smart Strategy Tactics In Walnut-Mahogany Case by Jesse Blair

I’m confused by all the glowing reviews of the beautiful "wood” used. The reason this set is so light is because it’s NOT REAL WOOD. The checkers are wood, but that’s all. The playing surface looks to be a printed vinyl/pvc material. Tap on the case and it sounds hollow. It is NOT worth $60! It’s embarrassing because I bought this as a gift and had it shipped directly to the recipient - thinking I was sending a nice classy gift - only to find out later that it’s plastic. Sadly, Revain has become free-for-all for false/inconsistent product descriptions and misrepresentations. After many years with very few returns, today about 1 in 4 of my purchases is a return. It’s become a real problem and is quickly making me distrustful to buy on Revain.Having said that, this is actually not a bad little backgammon set for what it is. Yes, it’s plastic, but It’s nice looking, sturdy enough, and for me, perfect traveling size. The texture of the case looks very cool and the small dice cups, rounded dice corners, and concave checker tops make it a very playable set. If it had an honest product description and was $30 less, I would probably give it 5 stars. Not a bad little set if you’re OK with being deceived and willing to overpay for the privilege.
