It works, so why not?
The original ring part is made of hard plastic, so it rotates easily and without friction. This part is made of rubber so it sticks to the gas cap and is harder to turn. I just smeared a very thin coat of motor oil on the inside of the rubber ring and now it spins freely. No need to spend $60 at the dealer. It works perfectly and is very easy to install. I recommend.
