These photos pretty much tell you everything you need to know. Dirty Purple is the old Filtrete for comparison. The filters came from the factory in beautiful branded packaging. Pretty bizarre. I don't have a clean one to compare, but cardboard is heavier and holds better. The dimensions are clearly printed on the filter and correspond to reality. I don't know why there is a difference between nominal and real size. One of the factors that influenced my purchase decision was that the actual size was clearly stated in the description. I hope my photos help others wonder if they fit right. Measure the hole. I was supposed to be 4 inches but I found there was room for this 5 inches IF the actual size measurements were correct.
