The handle inserts very easily. The only thing I had trouble with was widening the drain hole on the underside of the tailgate, which I had to run the cables through. I've attached a photo here, but as you can see the gap I created is messy. I used a dremel with a small grinder to cut a larger hole in the tailgate. To power the camera, I connected the red wire from the camera to the backup light wire (red/white wire on Tacoma). The purple tape in my photos shows you the route I took with the trailer. I personally would have liked more diagrams in the instructions, but with common sense and a basic electrical knowledge you should at least be able to do it. The handle has a nice secure fit that feels stock, I am very happy with the purchase.
