This is a version with a viscosity of 1000 cSt and a viscosity similar to 30 wt motor oil. It maintains this viscosity over a wide temperature range. This product is good for lubricating valves, o-rings, seals and gaskets in food machinery, but will work with anything you need to lubricate (especially plastic and rubber). It seems that it does not react with anything and is a dielectric (does not conduct electricity). It can be used (within specification) as a dampening fluid in oil-filled gauges. It is particularly good for lubricating piston chambers and airgun barrels to prevent diesel fuel (regular petroleum-based oils burning under high pressure). If you shoot an airgun in a dark place and see flames erupting from the barrel, it's diesel. So switch to silicone oil. This oil is pretty good for anything that needs lubrication.
