Some people have reported that the pipe "turned yellow" after a short installation. Most machined and chromed car parts have a thin layer of oil. It is normal for the metal to turn yellow or take on a slightly bluish tint as the oil burns. I opened the box when I received it and ran my fingers along the exhaust pipe to get a feel for the finish. Then I placed the Flowmaster exhaust tip in a shallow kitchen sink with water and Dawn dish soap. After washing, the surface looked very different. I have had a Flowmaster exhaust tip installed on my V8, F-150 for a few months now and it is SILVER CHROME as always.
