Review on Be Prepared With EVERLIT Emergency Trauma Kit: Military-Grade Tactical IFAK With CAT GEN-7 Tourniquet And 36" Splint For Critical Wound Response And Severe Bleeding Control In Black by Alexa Johnson

High Quality Basic Trauma IFAK

Just as a preface to the review, both my husband and I are medical professionals (ICU), and he has a military background, as well. We have a decent Emergency Preparedness supply of standard medical equipment at home, as well as a larger supply of specialty tools, bandages, medications, and even an AED, but were lacking much in the way of true trauma supplies. This kit is outstanding for filling that gap. The supplies included seem to be high quality and I don't doubt that they would do the job in an emergency situation. For such a small pack it is surprisingly roomy: I found that I could fit in a pair of chest seals, some QuikClot, a tac pen, a multi-tool, and even a paracord bracelet with some room to spare. The tourniquet is somewhat old-school and I am unfamiliar with the maker, so I will likely replace that with a CAT 7 at some point, and an ET tube kit would be nice (I would not expect that to fit inside this IFAK, however). For those unfamiliar with how to use an Israeli bandage or a tourniquet, it might be handy to include at least a small sheet of instructions. Otherwise? I'm impressed, and my current plan is to keep one in the house and one in a vehicle, just in case. It's no substitute for an ER and it's something I hope never to have to use, but it goes along way toward offering some peace of mind. Also, we love that the kit is from a smaller, veteran-owned company.
