It's really too small to grate parmesan cheese. The face is narrower than the average piece of cheese you buy at the grocery store, so when you grate you end up with an uneven piece of cheese. Of course, for some this might just be a minor inconvenience, but personally it really gets on my nerves. The rubber pad on the bottom protrudes enough that it catches most of the cheese when grating. I tried dusting it off but got frustrated, ripped it off and threw it away. Spend the extra few dollars and buy a larger grater with a bottom lip that doesn't stick out as much.
