Review on ACDelco 337 1048 Professional Starter by Victor Halla

Ideal for beginners

This starter motor was fitted to a 1999 Lincoln Towncar and was a perfect fit. Do-It-Yourself Warning: The top two screws are difficult to reach, and the top one is the strongest. I used several 3/8" extensions and it was slow due to the limited clearance between the frame and the catalytic converter. Be sure to coat the threads of the bottom bolts where they pass through the gear case with a good quality rust preventive spray before you begin, or you can round off the bolt head. Also try a 6-point socket. There are videos on Google about different ways to approach this job. Much luck!
