Review on Lion Brand Yarn 5003-300 Martha Stewart Crafts DIY Weaver Extender Kit: Enhance Your Weaving Experience with this Ultimate Extension Kit! by Kristen Simpson

So I'm brand new to weaving. As a layman, I was looking for a simple starter kit for making wall decor, pom poms, tassels, etc. Nothing fancy or really big. This kit was exactly what I needed. What I like about the kit: It has everything you need except yarn. It's very easy to use. Some instructions are included, but more information and project ideas can be found online at the Lion Brands website and YouTube. It's a small kit so projects are a bit limited, but you can get $30 expansion kits and make bigger things that way (which I bought on sale at another store for $10, which is a much better price - Value for what you get). The starter kit includes a small 11x11 plastic board, plastic pens, and some plastic tools (see photo). The expansion set comes with another 11x11 board, pins and plastic fasteners to connect them together. The brochure says you should use Lion brand thread (because it's made by Lion brand) but you definitely do NOT have to use their brand thread exclusively. Yarn. 🙄 Overall I think this is a good little kit for my project's needs. I think $60 for a starter kit and an expansion kit is pretty steep for what you actually get. Luckily I found a $10 expansion kit (so I bought three and now I can make bigger projects!) In about 2 hours I made my very first project using just the starter kit; small wall hanging. I've attached a photo because I'm very proud of myself (not bad for my first try) 😋
