Review on πŸ“ HATCHBOX Printer Filament: Ensuring Unmatched Dimensional Accuracy by Steve Hauck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My new favorite with a caveat

Hatchbox PLA has always been reliable, durable and good looking, but these matte finishes really enhance the look and make it look more professional. Matt also hides common misprints well. One caveat is that durability may not be as good as gloss (rather than matte) stock, but I may not have had a high enough extrusion temperature in a print that cracked in testing. This was printed at 200C, which is what I usually print using standard PLA. I noticed that it was stronger at 215C. This time, however, I didn't do any destructive testing. I used to be able to print onto nice clear glass with standard PLA, but not this one. A layer of glue stick on the glass, then wiped with alcohol to a thin dense film did the trick.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
