I have a few trees around the house with lots of leaves and pine needles. I noticed that after installing these guard rails, my gutters were constantly clogged and the gutters overflowed. The guards set up dams as large leaves and needles accumulated around them instead of being washed into the shells. I think they will really do their intended purpose and drain pipes won't get clogged just because nothing gets in, including water. Removed the guard, everything works fine. In heavy rain, all the leaves are easily washed off, and clogging of the shells does not occur as often as with guar. Not recommended at all.
