Good for beginners

This paper is good for beginners with pastel pencils. I can hardly paint over the paper with pastels. It just doesn't seem to fill in the creases, resulting in your artwork showing tiny paper lines. Like I said, this is great for beginners. If you want to try the best quality paper without spending too much money, I recommend getting a sample pack. You can get samples of various types of pastel paper at dakotapastels.com. For $25 you get about eleven 6x8 samples. You'll notice the difference in your work on higher quality paper.
