Had to remove and replace several cedar trim panels. Not all boards were bad, so I used an oscillating saw to cut the stainless steel ring shank nails underneath. The HHS blades might cut through maybe two or three of them before they burn out. My project was halted by the weather, but I drove at least a dozen nails (including a few 4-inch galvanized nails) on the same blade with no noticeable wear. These were blind cuts and I couldn't use lube (I'd try paste/wax lube on the edge if I had one) so I went slow and tried to use the width of the blade. I was skeptical about this job as I know the carbide is brittle but I am happy with the performance.
