Review on Fix Security Light Passlock Issue with APDTY 035812 & 035813 Ignition Lock Cylinder & Starter Switch Housing Combo Kit by Levi Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exact OEM fit, worth every penny

I replaced the ignition on a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu. On initial ignition, there was an intermittent power cut on startup - most of the internal electrical equipment did not function for a random period of 10 seconds to 45 minutes, although the car started and ran in this state. This item is a snug fit on the GM ignition cylinder and switch and fixes the electrical fault. Ignition programming was completed in one try. The included key position marked dashboard faceplate has pad printed letters and mine looked a little smudged. Five months of observation: This ignition lock cylinder and switch works every time. You must keep your original keys to open the doors and trunk. I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars based on the reliability and ease of installing this part in my car. All electrical devices work properly. Before you buy and change a new ignition cylinder to solve electrical problems, first eliminate all other potential sources of trouble. This was the second ignition switch and cylinder that I installed on my 2001 Malibu. The first was an OEM unit built by a dealer in 2003 to fix a password problem for nearly $400 in parts and labor. After an OEM replacement failed, this product arrived and performed just like the OEM at a fraction of the cost.
