I am an avid saltwater lover, I have 5 50 gallon tanks and a 220 gallon fresh water tank. My app was for saltwater aquariums. It worked great to solve a problem I was having with dynamometers and seems to have helped with my algae. Leaking doesn't give enough contact time for the bulb to toast it/velvet and how small the bulb/low wattage is. I noticed that my bristle tooth has a case of lymphocytes. I reduced the flow, which it can't. handle a very large reservoir at such a low flow but that seemed to help with his one lymphoma spot but I wasn't thrilled with the amount of microbubbles being drawn in by the pump. a mess and will eventually lower your salinity since your salt will be everywhere if there was a way to slow down the pump without relying on atmospheric air suction. I would say this UV sterilizer for 50 gallon and smaller tanks would be amazing to still be effective.
