I like Adafruit products, I can even be called an Adafruit fan. If there are multiple options, and if there is one from Adafruit, I will choose it based on its quality, documentation, and guidance. They let me down with that. This is a very immature product. Came undocumented which is not critical. I found this on their website. But then this documentation is incomplete and confusing. I couldn't get this device to work on Linux at all (they mention that it works on Ubuntu and elsewhere they mention that it doesn't, so it's not clear if it should work at all). After trial and error was I'm successfully halfway to getting it working on OS X. A third party utility works, but the Python code provided by Adafruit doesn't work. There are forum posts about the exact error I'm getting, but it hasn't been answered. I submitted a request to the Github repository. I am returning this module. If you need a Bluetooth LE sniffer, look elsewhere.
