I have this modem/router about a year old and recently it started dropping the WiFi signal randomly. I checked my internet speed when connected to Wi-Fi and my speed was half that of when connected directly to an Ethernet network. This clearly indicates that the surfboard is to blame. It's still under warranty, so of course I called customer service. The support staff helped figure out that the problem is indeed in the modem/router, but the return policy is a joke. I was given two options. Send them my broken modem/router for pennies, no replacement and no internet for who knows how long, or I could pay $10 to send a new one and also full retail price ($100 dollars) to pay for a new one. a new modem/router if I don't return the defective one. I will get a $100 refund if they receive the faulty modem/router within 15 days. I would also have to pay for return shipping no matter what choice I made. So basically it costs me about half the price of a new item ($60) to get a replacement. Unacceptable. I'll just buy another modem/router from a different manufacturer. I will avoid their products in the future.
