Our 32 year old Moen bath/shower remote started to leak recently. We also have a Moen shower only control system (also 32) which was very tight. Also, we encountered a strange phenomenon where the cold water settings of ALL our faucets got very hot and we had to wait for it to cool down! It was very strange. We tried the washing machine bath/shower cartridge replacement kit and it still leaked - and we still had the "hot water everywhere" problem. That's why we ordered 2 of these replacement cartridges at a TOP PRICE! (BTW if you have a cartridge of this type it's probably old and probably stuck. Get a Moen cartridge removal tool; they work GREAT!) The cartridges were delivered in 2 days via Prime. We turn off the water; pulled out the old cartridge; Insert a new cartridge with the notch on the stem (read instructions) pointing toward the water line. turned on the water. It took 10 minutes - maybe! Voila, smooth hot/cold water mix control - AND NO "hot water everywhere" problem! Apparently the hot water mixed with the cold in the cartridge and traveled all over the house - ODD! This part of the cartridge is genuine Moen and should last another 30 years! I am very comfortable!
