My only objection is that I have to replace one of them every few years as they get harder and streaky. Otherwise they are quite simple and relatively easy to assemble and bring a significant improvement. When installing, I apply silicone dielectric grease to the new component.

I thought it would be better to purchase a real brass style replacement cartridge. NOT CORRECT! After installation, it was very difficult to turn the kitchen sink faucet. The situation got worse so after 6 months I replaced it with a genuine Moen update even though it has plastic in it. Day and night - a new replacement - a dream, and this one went to the trash.

I guess I'll have to weigh it up. I rent a property with 16 souls using this cartridge. I bought a couple of these to be ready for the inevitable replacement. They fit great and look well constructed BUT I found them to need replacing and really hard to take off. It turns out they corrode easily, just enough to weld in place. I almost destroyed the faucet by even removing one of them with a puller. The original Moen cartridges did not have this problem.
