We have had this door knob in our home since we first bought a new house in 2005. I am pretty sure this is the Kwikset brand as it is identical to this product. After 10 years, some door handles will need to be replaced due to the normal rigors of daily use and abuse over 10 years. The grip style is exactly the same as our existing grips. The construction is solid and installation is fairly easy, albeit a bit more complicated than older versions. The main difference is that the older grip did not use set screws. With the newer version, you can no longer directly access the Phillips screws. You now need to loosen the set screw, remove the handle, remove the bezel, and then access the two Phillips screws to install it. I personally find this design to be a bit more complex than the previous version (again from 2005). The key point is that you shouldn't unscrew the set screw all the way as it was almost impossible to put it back in. Instead, loosen the screw just enough to remove the handle. Otherwise, the handles fit exactly into the existing openings. All in all this is a very good product. The handle feels very firm. I wish the spring action was a little better, but it should loosen up over time.
