I've had the good fortune to test several models including a side by side comparison. Kestrel weather gauges are very well made, and it's easy to see why it's worth paying more for US-made models than saving money on Chinese-made models. The "reliability" claim is true, and the ability to make very accurate measurements is fascinating. For example, the accuracy of temperature is reflected in how the temperature changes even when you go from the kitchen to the living room. The wind reading was also very accurate and as other reviews have pointed out being able to have 3 readings on the same screen is a plus. Well done, very accurate, great scientific instrument. Even the barometer readings from our local airport, which has official readings, to where I am (significant elevation changes) are accurate. Before purchasing, I spent time with Kestrel in an online Q&A; They offer excellent customer service. Good product; good company.
